UGG Belcloud Boots I bought a pair of UGGs yesterday, but its not what you thinkUGG Belcloud Boots, $275 via UGG Australia

I’m a Southerner, born and bred, with family in the South back to before the Civil War. I don’t fit many of the well-worn stereotypes about people from the South, but it’s the region of my birth, an incredibly complicated part of the country and a place for which I will always have immense love and gratitude. I live in the North now, though, so there are there some adjustments that have to be made, most of which involve cold weather and the lack of serviceable barbecue in New York City. If you’ve ever found yourself in a similar conundrum, take heart – all is not lost.

Unbeknownst to many who avoid the brand because of its association with furry footwear, UGG actually makes a full line of casual leather boots (with cozy shearling footbeds, of course) that aren’t at all like the UGGs everyone knows and loves (or hates). We’ve found four options that might suit your everyday winter wardrobe with all the comfort of an UGG but none of the telltale exterior signs. These designs might not be lighting the fashion world on fire, but they’re all attractive, functional and under $300.
