If you don’t have a Twitter account, you should really consider getting one, if only because the fashion industry has inexplicably taken to Twitter like a duck to water and there’s all kinds of sartorial information to be gleaned if you’re following the right people. In this industry, it far outshines Facebook.

Designers, editors and retailers alike have found an informal voice through tweets, and some of them are doing cool things for their fans with it. Bergdorf Goodman, for example, has sent its Twitter girl across New York with some of Fall 2011′s best shoes to photograph them in candid, spontaneous New York settings with famed iPhone photo app Instagram.
