Strappy sandals are a timelessly sexy wardrobe staple for any avowed heel-lover, but what exactly are the limitations of strappiness? It seems as though Tamara Mellon & Co. set out to find exactly that with the Ellie Leather and Mesh Sandals – I’m pretty sure that they have more material than some of the booties that I reviewed this past winter. “Show us the shoes!” we tweeted. And that you all did. Our second week of #featuremyshoes on Twitter gave us a great mix of heels, flats, and boots. Our winner was @LeticiaGuerra who tweeted us a picture of her Hunter Boots.

We loved this photo because of its composition and the addition of the umbrella next to the boots. Rain always tries to cramp our style, but Hunter gives us fashionable options as @LeticiaGuerra showed us. Click to see the runners up!

I think I might watch too many police shows. Criminal Minds, Law & Order: SVU (and ONLY SVU), NCIS – if it involves a dead body and a dedicated group of investigators, I will probably watch it. Not only that, but I’ll watch marathons of it, even if I’ve already seen all of the episodes. There’s no better way to bring my productivity to a screeching halt than to point me in the direction of six or so episodes of Shemar Moore kicking down serial killers’ doors. Read More…

If you had asked me to name the two most important trends of 2011 without any shoes or accessories sitting in front of me my answer would have been instantaneous and easy – brights and python, of course! It looks as though someone in the YSL accessories department is exactly on my wavelength, because the Yves saint Laurent Python Tribute Sandals hit both of those trends simultaneously. Read More…

The more shoes I look at, the more I think I need some rose gold happening south of my ankles, if you catch my meaning. The Brian Atwood Maniacs had me thoroughly curious, Pierre Hardy’s Fall 2011 collection had me halfway on the bandwagon, and now the Christian Louboutin Balota Sandals have gotten me over the fence – I’m hooked.

At a glance, these shoes look glittery, but they’re really just “glitter finish.” Depending on your personal preferences, that might be a positive or a negative, but I think it’s a nice feature – not only does it prevent the glitter from shedding all over you and everything else in your closet (which, sadly, Louboutin’s lovely, glittery shoes tend to do), but it means that the shoes will retain their finish for longer. After New York Fashion Week Spring 2011 was over seven months ago, if you had asked me to pick a pair of shoes from the shows that I thought would never actually get produced or sold at retail, I would have told you that we had seen the last of the Reed Krakoff Bridle Cuffed Leather and Python Sandals. And yet, here they are. Read More…

By now, I’m sure that most of you are familiar with TOMS shoes and what the company does for children in need – for every pair of TOMS sold, the company donates a pair of shoes to a child in a developing nation. Today, for the fourth year running, the company is sponsoring worldwide events to raise awareness for its charity work via the TOMS Day Without Shoes. Read More…

I am envious of every woman who wears heels daily and seems to be able to walk normally. I was never a heel-wearing gal and because of that my feet still need to grow accustomed to wearing them, even if all my wants revolve around stilettos. I love flats and many times desire a pair of great sneakers that will be chic and comfortable. Read More…
