We’ve been tracking the return of pumps around here for quite some time, and we’re not the only ones who have noticed that the classic, platformless, closed-toe heels are making a fierce comeback on the feet of chic women everywhere. Style.com has officially dubbed them the shoe of the summer, which makes us wonder which pumps you’re currently coveting for yourself. Read More…

Paloma Barcelo Rondel Wedges, $295 via Bergdorf Goodman.
Sometimes when we run across a shoe that we think will lead to a particularly lively conversation, we put it to our commenters to tell us what’s on their minds before we create bias with our own opinions. We call it “Fill in the Blank,” and today, we’d like to play that game with the Paloma Barcelo Rondel Wedges. Read More…
The fashion industry can be so cruel sometimes. Particularly when season change. As I’ve lamented before, just as everyone is settling comfortably into summer, fall collections start popping up for pre-order and suddenly none of my summer purchases look all that appealing. Giuseppe Zanotti Crystallized Colorblock Platform Slingbacks, $1495 via Neiman Marcus.

The texture and shine that the crystals, termed “strassing,” gives to the designs is unparalleled by other materials. Read More…

There’s been a lot to take in about life in New York City and how it’s different than my native Atlanta, but while adjusting, I’ve tried to stay abreast of the differences in fashion as well. One thing that I’ve noticed quite a bit is that even when it’s 90 degrees outside, I see people wearing boots.
After a couple of weeks here, I can understand why people wear closed shoes even when it’s hot. Read More…
