Khloe Kardashian recently donned a pair of epic Giuseppe Zanotti Embellished Sandals at a ridiculously blinged-out event in LA sponsored by Hpnotiq. (No, we didn’t forget how to spell, that’s really how they spell it. Also, yes, that is a bedazzled princess carriage.) We’re madly in love with these sandals and desperately combing the interweb to find them for you online, but in the mean time, you can pick up this black wedge version at Net-a-Porter for $1,695. Whether you care about movies or not, you’ve probably been made aware by the entertainment and media Powers That Be that the Cannes Film Festival is currently happening in the south of France. With Cannes comes a whole bevy of actresses, models and people who are famous for being famous, all on the red carpet in the the most Cannes-worthy of designer finery. Read More…
Gwyneth Paltrow recently threw a big, star-studded shingdig for her lifestyle site GOOP across the pond at The Mark in London. Gwyneth donned black leather Tom Ford Triple Buckle Sandals with gold hardware at GOOP’s summer launch party – she’s a huge Tom Ford fan, and they’ve been pals since his days at Gucci. If you love Gwyneth’s look, you can get these sandals in gold for $1,450 at Neiman Marcus. Read More…
Gucci is a name that likely still inspires images of Tom Ford-era obvious sexuality in many fashion lovers, but over her thoroughly successful tenure at the brand, Frida Giannini has gone about changing that obviousness into something far more subtle and even, at times, ladylike. The shoes of Gucci Fall 2013, available now for pre-order at Neiman Marcus, represent the brand’s growth beautifully. Read More…
A while ago, Amanda declared the Christian Louboutin Transparent Un Bout Pumps her personal favorite out of the dozens of designer options that emerged when the clear PVC trend first flared up. Today, I’m declaring my own PVC fave – these Chanel Spring 2013 Cap Toe Pumps, as seen here on Emma Watson at Cannes. Though I must say, the similarities between the aforementioned Christian Louboutins and these Chanels are quite striking. Read More…
Once and for all, I think we can finally put the sneaker wedge to bed. Every brand on Earth has done one by now, and I’m hoping that now that we’ve all got that out of our collective system, we can focus on something much cooler: regular sneakers. And while I’m always a proponent of picking up a pair of Nike Dunks instead of a pair of designer kicks, the latter has become very much a trend among the fashion set, so I’m here to talk about it. Boot-sandals continue to be a huge designer footwear trend for summer, as evidenced by these dramatic Laurence Dacade Dolene Boots, seen on the feet of Avril Lavigne at this weekend’s Billboard Music Awards. I tend to think these would’ve looked better with anything other than a leather mini-dress; that hits this style note a little too on-the-nose, and the matchy-matchy leather couples’ look makes Avril and her fiance Chad Kroeger look a tad like Leather Fetish Barbie and Ken. I spend perhaps more time than most squinting at the feet of starlets and celebs, trying to ascertain exactly which shoes they’re wearing. In some ways, Christian Louboutin makes that task easier – his signature red soles are visible in a way that no other brand has yet figured out how to replicate. (Except by trying their hand at their own colored soles, of course.) Figuring out that a shoe is a Louboutin is only have the struggle, though – which one is it? Read More…
