Before I moved to New York City two years ago, it had never occurred to me that there would be a period of time during legitimate spring (not “spring” in early March, when it’s actually still winter but we’re all sick of admitting that to ourselves) when it wouldn’t be appropriate to wear sandals. I wouldn’t call myself a fan (mostly because I’m not sure what she does that requires the response of fandom), but she’s a perfectly amusing media presence that occasionally enriches my life through ridiculous tabloid stories.
