Today, I cannot be subdued. Yes, it’s back in the low 50s in New York City. Yes, a pair of ankle boots would be more appropriate. This far into spring, though, I’m just not interested in the objective reality of the weather. I will wear my spring shoes, including my Loeffler Randall x Tucker Odile Espadrille Sneakers, and there’s nothing that you or Mother Nature or anybody can do about it. I ordered these shoes in January, and I’ve had them in my possession for over a month. They WILL be worn.

Of course, I did get to break them in for a few days last week when spring actually acted like spring for an exceedingly brief moment in time, and now I’m addicted. Shoes like these generally make me a bit nervous, because they need to be worn without socks, which can be a painful experience when it comes to stiff canvas. After my feet warmed them up, though, it’s been a painless experience, unlike pretty much any other pair of canvas sneakers I’ve ever broken in. Not to mention that these are far cuter – the Tucker floral print is pretty without being twee, and the slightly tapered shape of the toe and the espadrille sole make this design unique. Espadrilles, of course, are a huge trend for spring.

I grew up wearing Keds and Converse, so normally, $195 for a pair of canvas sneakers would feel a little silly to me. I’m genuinely impressed with the construction and quality of these shoes, though, and they feel more substantial and well-made than most of their less-expensive canvas counterparts. Without a doubt, I’d spend that $195 on these shoes again. You can pick up a pair of your own via ShopBop.

It’s cool to see a celeb actually getting some traction out of her designer wares. Also cool: Loeffler Randall shoes aren’t as outrageously priced as your typical celeb designer footwear. You can check out their goodies at LoefflerRandall.com.

Diane not only has fab taste in shoes, she also has exquisite taste in bags – you can sample her collection in “The Many Bags of Diane Kruger” on PurseBlog!

I’ve been on something of a tear lately, and that tear has been all about boots. I’ve bought moto boots, combat boots, the Dr. Martens from last week. Now that I’ve acquired the Loeffler Randall Felix Booties, though, I think I’m ready to step away from the online shopping. I feel complete.

Printed shoes are something of a personal favorite, and this navy and white pair of lizard-embossed booties fits the bill perfectly. The minimal shape, modest heel and stark color palette combine for a perfectly modern feel, and in a market where $995 for a pair of shoes feels increasingly normal, the $425 price tag feels downright accessible.

Wearing printed shoes can be tricky, but I consider myself something of a pro. The key is to get yourself used to the look by wearing the shoes with simple, solid neutrals until they don’t feel so crazy anymore. All you need to make these shoes work is a pair of black opaque tights and some kind of dark, neutral dress (preferably in charcoal or navy). Once you feel comfortable with that, you can try working some prints into the mix – a medium-scale floral would be a good place to start. Buy through ShopBop for $425.

Hi everyone, I’m Hilary. We haven’t met yet, I’m new to the TalkShoes team, and I am SHOE OBSESSED. I can wax on and on about what makes a shoe good for paragraphs. I promise not to bore you like that, though.

Full disclosure: I have been a shoe-a-holic since I was just a kid. I even lied to my mom that my feet had grown and my sneakers were too small just to get a new pair. I’ve since evolved past Stride-Rite and my closet is now filled with Giuseppe Zanotti, Miu Miu, Prada and so many more fabulous shoes that I’ve bought instead of buying things I need…like food. Anyway, I thought I’d kick off my first post by talking about what I want right now.

I’ve been on a bit of a bootie kick lately and while I’m full-on obsessed with the Chloe Susan Studded Ankle Boot, the other shoe topping my lust list right now is this Loeffler Randall open toe bootie. Loeffler Randall shoes just ooze downtown, understated and sexy. I love the idea of a bootie that shows off a pedicure, which to my mind, means it’s summer friendly. Jeans, leggings or dresses, this workhorse pretty much would rock it with everything. I’m also obsessed with the substantial stacked heel because it won’t get shredded by NYC’s concrete sidewalks, which have eaten my stilettos alive. Buy through ShopBop for $395.

The Loeffler Randall Cutout Wedge Sandal, on the other hand, is a design that’s both wearable and fresh. Suede isn’t an intuitive fabric for a sandal, but the punchy red-orange color ensures that even though this shoe is a little less bare than many in the same genre, it feels no less season-appropriate.

Although the heel stands at a little over four inches, the inch-tall covered platform and sturdy wooden wedge make this the kind of shoe that heel lovers should be able to wear all day on the weekends. The lace-up style and curved heel are a much more modern take on a summer staple, and for what you get, the price isn’t bad at all. I’d be proud to wear these all summer long, and with the right pair of tights, maybe even longer. Buy through Neiman Marcus for $495.

In fact, in many parts of the US, winter snow is going to give way directly to spring rain over the next couple of months, and as with everything, appropriate footwear is necessary. But what if you don’t like wearing big, clunky rain boots when it’s warm outside?

Very simple, m’dears. All you have to do is get yourself a pair of the chic Loeffler Randall Lace-Up Rain Booties and you’ll be set for whatever wet weather might come your way. These might technically be a fall style, but to me, they seem most useful when shorts and dresses are the wardrobe norm.

Naturally, the best thing about these booties is that they don’t really look like weather-specific footwear. In fact, they don’t look substantially different from the cute little shoes that you see all kinds of stylish young women wearing during temperate weather. They also come in khaki green and beige, if you prefer, but I’d get the most use out of black. Buy through ShopBop for $165!

The best way to guarantee that it will rain on a grey day is for me to try and run a quick errand without an umbrella or appropriate shoes. I’ve been putting off the purchase of a pair of rain boots because it still hasn’t gotten cold in Atlanta yet (yesterday, for example, was 77), but it has to get cold sooner or later (right?!?!), and the rain will come even more often when that happens.

I’ve been mulling my various rain boot choices over the past couple of months, and although I’m a big fan of Hunters, so is everyone else. I also like the surprisingly low-priced Givenchy iteration, but I was thinking that, shock of shocks, I might want something other than black. Black leggings are a winter staple in my wardrobe, and a little contrast is always good. Then I found the Loeffler Randall Back Zip Rubber Rain Boots, and all of my wishes had been granted.

As high-end rain boots get more popular, they seem to get more and more complicated. What drew me to this pair initially was its simplicity – you won’t find any unnecessary studs, buckles or patterns here, and the back zip keeps the shape of the boot particularly sleek since your foot doesn’t have to make its way through a closed ankle opening. These boots are probably best for city dwellers who merely have to traverse puddles and post-snow slush, but if you fit that description, they also come in black and army green. Buy through ShopBop for $195.

Functional duality is a difficult thing to create in any sector of fashion, but it’s particularly hard when designing an object that requires as much structural integrity as a shoe.
Functional duality is a difficult thing to create in any sector of fashion, but it’s particularly hard when designing an object that requires as much structural integrity as a shoe.

Usually when one thing can successfully serve two purposes, one of those purposes suffers to some extent. Surprisingly, that doesn’t appear to be the case with these boots. Both the full shaft and ankle boot versions are well-cut and sleek, and the preponderance of zipper embellishments in recent fall looks ensures that the mechanism for changing the boot from one shape to the other doesn’t look too out-of-place. The metal toe plate is a nice touch, and the overall effect is modern and wearable, not to mention versatile and reasonably priced. Buy through Neiman Marcus for $895.
