Not long ago, I posited on PurseBlog that zebra might be the next animal print to hit it big in accessories. Gucci and Dolce & Gabbana both have zebra bags that are out right now or are slated to debut in the next six months, and it seems to be about time that a new print du jour came along to make everyone buy new things. The fashion industry loves doing that to us, after all.

If my hypothesis is correct, the Jean-Michel Cazabat will be the first (and possibly only, I’m more of a leopard girl) zebra heels that I buy. The high wedge gives you all of the zebra goodness that you could want, and the sub-$300 price tag won’t make you feel too terrible about buying into a trend.

As much as I’m a proponent of flats in all their incarnations, I get a little sick of looking at ballet flats after a while. I own a zillion pairs with any type of embellishment or adornment that you could think of, but even with the copious time I have to browse for shoes, it’s hard to find a flat that doesn’t look like one I already own. The same goes to the ballet flat’s cousin, the pointy-toed flat.

Perhaps that’s why I’ve taken such a shine to oxfords lately, and the Jean-Michel Cazabat Alana Cutouts are my latest obsession. The intricately designed oxfords put a very feminine spin on the standard wingtipping that usually decorates a shoe of this type, and with a sub-$300 price tag, you certainly get an interesting shoe for the money.
