Ever since I saw the Yves Saint Laurent Palais Platforms, I’ve been in love. The bold blue suede and curvy heels and platform turn a regular pumps into something special, but unfortunately, they do it to the tune of over $700. With World Cup going on, I guess it’s as good a time as any to tell this story – the reason that I don’t wear heels day-to-day is not because I don’t like them (obviously I love them), but because I blew out my ankle playing soccer about ten years ago. I won’t get in to gruesome details, but suffice it to say that my ankle remains very weak even a decade later, and it’s just not safe for me to wear heels with any amount of regularity.
