B Brian Atwood Taurasa Ankle Boot, $550 via Saks

Who doesn’t love a diffusion line? Nobody, that’s who. Brian Atwood is a TalkShoes favorite, and he only stands to become even more beloved with the release of his lower-priced collection, B Brian Atwood. If there’s anything the shoe market needs, it’s more hotness that falls into the $600-or-less range.

With the exception of one boot that costs an inexplicable $995, that’s exactly what this line is. Read More…

Brian Atwood Blonski Suede Boots, $2070 via Net-a-Porter

I’m usually slow to use superlatives, particularly when a season has barely started, but I feel comfortable calling the Brian Atwood Bronski Studded Thigh-High Boots the sexiest boots we’re going to see this season, and perhaps the sexiest shoes, period. In fact, I’d challenge anyone to prove me wrong, because I bet you can’t. Read More…

It looks like it’s not just me, texture really is the biggest thing in footwear for Fall 2011. Exotic skins, fur, feathers, haircalf, glitter all of the above – get ready for a few months filled with shoes that look like something Cher would wear on her head. And I mean that in the nicest way possible, because we all know that I enjoy a crazy shoe. Read More…

Can we talk about one of my biggest online shopping pet peeves for a moment?

I absolutely cannot stand it when retail sites don’t list a brand’s products by their proper names. Case in point: The Brian Atwood Suede and Metal Heel Platform Pumps, currently available via Saks.com. Brian Atwood names all of his shoes. All of them. Most designers with a significant following do, because that makes it a thousand times easier for fans to track down a select design and to find information about them on the Internet. Read More…

Brian Atwood Maniac Haircalf Pumps, $735 via Net-a-Porter

The charms of the Brian Atwood Maniac Pumps are already well-known among shoe lovers, so I won’t belabor the point. They’re a great basic to have in the closet and they come in a rainbow of colors and finishes, you guys. That’s all that needs to be said. The utterly modern, rich color and finish of this neon pink haircalf, however, is a point that I think requires much belaboring. Read More…

If I had to pick one word to describe Brian Atwood as a footwear designer, it would be “fearless.” I don’t always like everything that Atwood creates, but I always appreciate that he had the nerve to design over-the-top, fanciful stuff for a mass-market audience. And lucky for me, I love almost all of Brian Atwood Resort 2012.

Other than one stripper platform (you’ll know the one I’m talking about after you make the jump, I promise), the rest of the shoes are sexy, fun and full of life. Read More…

I spent all of this weekend hoofing it around in New York, and let me tell you, I’m not sure how people who wear heels do it up there. My feet hurt badly enough after a few hours in my flats, and still I saw women walking blocks in three- and four-inch heels. (The ladies with five-inch heels, perhaps predictably, were all getting into cabs.) My move to the city is a little over a month away, and before then, I’m going to need to do some serious shoe-shopping for comfortable kicks. Read More…

The last time that I wrote about a Brian Atwood wedding shoe, many of you voiced hesitation over spending so much money on a pair of shoes that can only be worn once. Even in the strata of budget-busting fantasy wedding garb, that’s a legitimate concern and one that I intended to address the next time that a wedding shoe came my way. Read More…
