Basketball Wives out shopping on Robertson Blvd in Beverly Hills, CA

Despite all the discourse, sneaker wedges are not going away – in fact, thay’re now more proliferous than ever. A quick search on Google now yields four whopping pages of shopping results that include everyone from Marc Jacobs to Puma to Steve Madden. The extra-luxe kicks in this picture belong to Evelyn Lozada, ex-wife of Chad Ochocinco, ex-GF of Antoine Walker, and star of the reality series Basketball Wives. She’s donned the studded, black suede Giuseppe Zanotti Hidden Wedge Sneakers while shopping in LA with bestie Shaunie O’Neal (ex of Shaq and fellow castmate). You can snap up these GZ sneaker wedges for $1,095 at Farfetch.com. (That’s $455 more than the original Isabel Marants!)

Evelyn is also carrying a gorgeous black crocodile-embossed Celine Trapeze Bag, which is not available for sale online, sadly. Being Evelyn Lozada certainly seems to have its perks.

These don’t look good on anyone and I wish the entire style would go away. I am in SoCal and I have yet to see anyone wearing this style. The only place I see them being worn is by about every “fashion blogger” in the blogosphere, and when that is the case, I run in the other direction… All these “fashion bloggers” also ruined any like I may have had for the Celine Trapeze as well…

@gpc Are you comparing the hideous sneaker trend to Celine? Come on… I think we can do better than that. When Isabel Marant started the sneaker trend she meant to allow women to wear something comfy without giving up the heel-benefit factor which helps us all (including top models) without it being so obvious to the unprofessional eye, and that was quirky and eclectic. So the trend went way commercial, whatever!
