I’ll admit it: my feet are a little sweaty. I don’t know if they’re like that naturally or if it’s caused by the fact that I live in a very warm, humid climate, but it’s the truth. As a result, jellies have never sounded like a good idea to me – rubber against my skin seems like trouble, and no amount of fashionable pressure during various jellies trends has ever made me reconsider that opinion.

Well, the Givenchy Chain Detail Jelly Sandals might finally be what it takes to get my feet into a pair of rubber shoes. They’re industrial and sleek in a way that leather rarely manages to be, and I think that I may love them, if only because they’re so unique.

Normally jellies are overwhelmingly girly and juvenile, so the fact that Givenchy went in the complete opposite direction with this pair is even more encouraging. The modern design is adorned only with the chain across the vamp, giving them a futuristic warrior look that flies in the face of what we all assume a pair of jellies is going to be. They’d probably still make my feet sweat, but I want them anyway. Buy through Saks for $230.

I love Givenchy but these are ugly.

  • miko

I …. cannot get behind these…down with jellies I say…lol. They’re probably comfortable for half an hour, tops!

  • BLynnT

I don’t like anything about these – style, material, and definitely not color. No thanks…

  • Sakyie

I’d have to pass on these for sure. As far as the colour & style go, they remind me of those Natrualizer shoes my grandmother wears. (No offense grannie! LOL)

  • quimerula

    Noooo, aaaaagh, my eyes… Hideous!

  • DL

    SO ugly!

  • jen

Honestly, what is this thing on the front? It looks like toothpaste gone bad!
I really liked GIvenchys version from last season, but these? Horrible.

  • Laureen

I love the chain detail done in jelly!

  • Ashley

My first instinct is to pass on these… But maybe they look better on?

  • Dezynrbaglaydee

these are cute, but i’d never wear them.

  • daniel

just not feeling these .. they look a bit bland
and the design isn’t that great

  • Lauren

Looks like someone poured concrete over your foot.

  • mochababe73

This looks like it would make your foot look huge. Not a fan of paying $230 for plastic shoes.
Besides, I wore these in the 80s, and they are not comfortable. But at that age, I was willing to suffer for fashion.

  • erg

I like the design of these shoes; I agree that these are more fashionable than most other jelly sandals. However I think that the plastic makes them hideous.

  • Cara

These are quite unattractive in reality. The best shoes of this sort are from Vivienne Westwood.

  • Siobhan Chiffon

They look incredibly comfy, and I like the same colored chain. But wearing them in real life might look silly — as someone else said, the chain might look like tooth pasta or a noodle.
    Ahaha

  • Katrina

I agree with cara, the best jellies I’ve seen so far are those from melissa x vivienne westwood

  • Lea

looved them, but not a very big fan of the color.

  • Emily

I do not like these at all. I agree with mochababe73 about it possibly making your foot look huge.

    • jo

      trueee

  • NinjaNinja

Most jelly shoes are really ugly, and this isn’t the exception to the rule.

  • JenG

I wore jellies when I was younger, but I am to old for these. They look like they would make your feet hurt.

  • SisiEko

    No:)

  • Laura

    These are just awful.

  • Treselle

i ordered burberry jellies and returned them right away. not a fan of jellies.

  • Ashley

These are possibly the ugliest sandals I have ever seen…I dont like jellies to begin with but these take the cake for hedeous shoes.

  • faith24

i dont know what to think, i hate flats normally but these ones look decent

  • Valerie C.

All I can think is that they’d stick to my feet. They’d be nice in leather though :)

  • jetsetgo!

    I like these,

  • Victoria

too big, too much jelly, these would cover my whole foot, sometimes too much isn’t good!

    • Sakyie

Exactly! I imagine they’d make your feet look as if you wrapped them in ravioli? Or some other pasta haha!

  • nicole

uhh.. not really attractive, they look like they would be for people with wide feet

  • Kymmie

I don’t even think my mom would wear these and she will wear just about anything!

  • adrienne

    yuckiedoodledoo

  • ter garney

They’re Givenchy! Who cares? I’d wear em!

  • Chrisine R

I actually think these are cute for the material being used. The fact remains I would pay the $230 for shoes that are comfortable as I’m tired and so is the dh of me paying absurd amounts of money on shoes that I only look at and wear once or twice due to the pain. Just my two cents though!!

  • Kristen

$230 for jelly shoes? Um, no.

  • sunchicka

They are so so.I’d pass on the price though.

  • Kelly

Very unique, but I don’t think so.

  • Valentina

Love Givenchy but never been into rubber, probably never will.

  • Michelle

There’s something weird about the style, maybe the fact that they come up at the ankle.

  • Chelsea Clark

They don’t even look like jellies, but I really don’t like the gladiator style that’s so “in” right now..

  • Tiffany

Not for me! I loved jelly shoes when I was a kid, but not as an adult!

  • Anita

    I’m not feeling these.
