Fur on boots. Some people love it, and some people hate it. Some look at fur on boots and think of Big Foot, while others love the look for the stylistic element it delivers. While it seems like we have seen it all when it comes to outrageous shoe designs, this Viktor & Rolf shoe, for me, is a first. The Viktor &a Rolf Rabbit Fur Ankle Strap Sandals bewildered me from the moment I saw them.
Right away, I usually know whether or not I’m a fan of a particular shoe. These fur stilettos, however…not so much. Aesthetically, they’re a distinctive and peculiar shoe. Like I said this is something unlike anything I’ve seen in my short time in the fashion industry, and because of that, I’m immediately drawn to it. When I begin to analyze the shoe, my opinion begins to change.
My biggest question is what time of year do you wear this shoe? It’s an open toe design, which generally many people wear and associate with the warmer months. The fur, on the other hand, throws everything off. Fur is a winter look, and adding it to an open-toe shoe downright confuses me. I suppose it would make for an ideal shoe when transiting into the different season like from fall to winter or winter to spring, but even that’s pushing the envelope. I may be old school, but I like my winter and summer wardrobes to stay separate.
If anyone knows of an outfit they can pair this with, I would love to hear! If you are a fan of this Viktor & Rolf shoe, you can get a pair at ShopBop.com for $815.
