Fair warning, you guys: weird shoes ahoy. Not that Prada doesn’t always throw us a few weird shoes to contemplate, of course, but the Prada Spring 2013 was absolutely chock full of ‘em. Not a conventional shoe to be found. Instead, we got geisha-futuristic platforms with leather toe socks. I wish any of that were the least bit of an exaggeration, but it’s not. You can probably already tell that by the photo above.
What Miuccia is normally so good at, though, is making shoes that are so weird that I feel like I have to wear a pair. This group, on the other hand, is best left somewhere around eye-level; they’re interesting to look at on an aesthetic level (some of them, anyway), but they’re not in any way related to the type of shoes that modern women want to wear right now. It’s an interesting idea with an execution that just doesn’t deliver in the real world. Check out our gallery of the collection after the jump.
