Traditionally, one of my favorite things about fall and winter is that cold weather generally marks a return to dark colors. Black and grey make up a huge portion of my wardrobe and I never feel more like myself than when I’m wearing them – no wonder I like Rick Owens and Alexander Wang so much. Somehow, though, I can’t help but fall for the Carven Bow Embellished Suede Pumps in love baby blue suede. Unfortunately, they come at a time of year where my focus is on very different things.

Suede is a traditionally cold-weather material, which helps the cause, but the color didn’t make much sense to me until I started imagining it as an exceptionally feminine (those bows!) accent to charcoal grey, chocolate brown or navy.
