This requires very little explanation: Nicholas Kirkwood Pre-Spring 2013 is both awesome and available for pre-order on Moda Operandi through July 23. Kirkwood is known for serious shoes with interesting structural elements and just enough whimsy to round things out nicely, and this collection’s melange of textures, materials, colors and patterns is a nice advancement on that theme. These shoes feel lighter and more self-assured than Kirkwood’s designs have in recent memory; what we see here is a young brand really, truly coming into its own.
