Last time we talked about a Giuseppe Zanotti shoe, my feelings were…less than positive. Negative, even! Most of you guys agreed, and I think I speak for all of us when I say that I tried to put that shoe behind me as quickly as possible. To be fair, most of Zanotti’s shoes have been fantastic lately, and that funky-toed superplatform was simply the exception that proved the rule. On the other end of the spectrum, the brand has outdone itself with the Giuseppe Zanotti Metal-Heel Suede Pumps. Wow.

I’ve loved these shoes since the first time I set eyes on them in a WWD spread a few months ago, and now that they’re sitting here in front of me, waiting to be purchased, I’m absolutely salivating. Metal heels are nothing new in fashion, particularly over the last year, but these pumps take it to a whole new level, with the gold actually cupping the entire back of your foot. It’s a nice play on the traditional structure of a pump, and it reads as incredibly chic and expensive without making the shoe difficult to pair with things in your wardrobe. Sign me up. Buy through Net-a-Porter for $650.

to-die-for. Now if they could make a peeptoe version of it,  i´d be the luckiest girl in the world!

I’m not liking the front of the shoe.. The cut seems really high to hide all the toe cleavage. If it had that loafer flap in the front like the new Miu Miu velvet ones, I think it would look more interesting.. Right now this looks like a badly-cut regular black pump disguised to look like a modern-artsy shoe with that beautiful heel. Summary: front and back don’t do each other justice.
