A few months ago, the fashion world was abuzz over the news that Christian Louboutin would design a fantasy version of Cinderella’s glass slipper in conjunction with Disney’s DVD release of the classic animated film on Blu-Ray later this year. Now that buzz has come to fruition: Yesterday, Disney and Louboutin unveiled the shoes in Paris. Want to buy yourself a pair? Too bad.

Even though 200 pairs of these beaded and crystal-studded mesh heels will be produced, they’re all going to be given away, apparently to lucky winners of some sort of contest that has yet to be announced. Depending on your personal budget, that might be good news or bad news, but personally, I’m a little underwhelmed by the design. I’ve never been much of a butterfly lover, so that might be why, but I just expected something a bit more innovative for Louboutin’s take on the most famous pair of shoes in literary history. Check out a view of the shoes from the front after the jump and let us know what you think.

Come on, they’re pretty cool, a lot better than the Daffodils or the Spike thing that is so overdone.

They are pretty, but I don’t think of butterflies when I think of Cinderella’s shoes…

I didn’t think Cinderella when I saw these.

Yeah they don’t look like Cinderella shoes. But they’re definitely not dull..if you have good eyes these shoes are quite charming and cute if you put them on
