Most of the time when I write about Jimmy Choo in this space, I’m being critical. The brand tends to waste its potential, which is unfortunate for a company with as many resources as Choo; they really could, not to mention should, be doing better. There’s one category in which Jimmy Choo shines, though, often literally as well as figuratively: fancy dress-up shoes.

If you need a pair of heels to pair with serious eveningwear, whether it be a spangled cocktail dress or a full-length ball gown, Choo is actually a great place to start looking. The Jimmy Choo Tune Sequined Suede Sandals prove that once again. This shoe’s a standout, but it’s the kind of standout that can be repeated for years at occasional evening events without becoming tired.

Most women, even those who attend a reasonable number of events, don’t want to buy a huge number of evenings shoes. They tend to be less fun than the more fashion-forward looks that skew a tad less formal, but they’re no less expensive. If you want to kill a few birds with one stone, this is a great pair to do it with. The sequins and suede, combined with the sandal structure, make this shoe practically seasonless. It’s not so bare that it’d look out of place in cooler weather, but it’s still immediately wearable right now, in July. Not only that, but the sequins will spice up a black dress while also being neutral enough to blend in if you wear something more vibrant. If only the rest of Choo’s line were as good. Buy through Net-a-Porter for $995.
