There are precious few things I love more in life than a truly beautiful flat shoe. Designers put so much time and energy into their high heels that anything less than four inches tall usually feels like an afterthought, but in reality, those are the shoes that women wear most often and really need in their wardrobes. A few select shoppers live in their stilettos, but most of us need balance, both literally and figuratively.
That’s where shoes like the Marc by Marc Sequined Leather Loafers come in. At first I thought they were slightly gilded metallic snakeskin, but upon closer inspection, they’re actually weather gold and black sequins, which I think is actually cooler. Sign me up for a pair of these, especially at this super reasonable price.
Although they’re a little dark for true summer wear, in the city, I always find myself looking for closed-toe shoes no matter the temperature. New York is just…grimy. I love it, but it’s grimy, and I don’t want to get whatever’s on the sidewalk on my feet. That means that lately, I’m wearing a lot of fall shoes with a lot of not-so-fall outfits, so this beautiful pair might as well go ahead and join the club. Buy for $250 via Net-a-Porter.
