I always forget that summer doesn’t officially start until June 21st. That seems late, right? In my mind, Memorial Day weekend is always the market for the change in the seasons, but in reality, you still have almost a month left of spring while you’re grilling hamburgers and saluting the troops. So, you know, two weeks left for us right now, but I’m already looking forward to the cool-off for fall.
That’s not because of the weather – New York’s warm season hasn’t really even been warm so far – but because of the fashion. I prefer warm-weather clothes to those intended for cold weather, generally, but my love for a really great bootie wins out over all. With options like the Yves Saint Laurent Tribute Lace-Up Suede Booties.
I think that the Tribute sole structure is as played out as anyone, but I love this shoe so much that I don’t care. The berry-colored suede is so sumptuous and rich that I want to reach out and touch it, followed quickly by putting it on my foot over a pair of black opaque tights. It’s going to be too warm to fulfill that fantasy for several months, but I’ve got my eye on these shoes. Buy through Neiman Marcus for $995.
