As I’m sure most of you guys already know, the severity of the ankle at which a shoe shifts transitions from the tallest point of the heel to where the ball of the foot rests is called the shoe’s “pitch.” A platform is often used to decrease a shoe’s pitch, because it raises the ball of the foot up a bit and negates part of the heel height. Despite a significant platform, both hidden and exposed, on the Giuseppe Zanotti Wave Cutout Bootie, the pitch of these six-inch heels looks incredibly steep.

Other than that, I love the design and color, so I thought it might be fun to use them to play this week’s Fill in the Blank. Finish my title quote after the jump, or if you’d rather, pick up these heels via Neiman Marcus for $1150.

They look quite painful to walk in lol

In a bit lower heel, say 120 – 130, they would be awesome !  With such a cool design, I just can’t figure out why premium designers continue to push ridiculous heel heights (150-160) to set their shoes apart.  There is a point where shoes go from being interesting and sexy to trashy. Personally, I consider 140 to be the line in the sand, sometimes it works, sometimes not.

Oddly enough,  Jimmy Choo, amazingly, might be onto something, offering a similar look in two heel heights (Kai (110) / Koko (145).
