A week ago, I asked you whether or not you would consider wearing a pair of shoes large made out of PVC. The majority of those who responded said no, and truthfully, I’m on your side. When I see a pair I like, even a pair I love, I’m always too afraid of the results of plastic-on-foot violence to give them a try. Particularly if the shoes in question are expensive – who wants to spend that much money for something that’s non-leather and likely painful?
Leave it to the Christian Louboutin Un Bout Transparant Pumps to convert me. It seems as though everyone in the world loves these shoe’s, from budding pop star Rita Ora to one of my favorite bloggers Gabifresh, and even a friend’s physical therapist. Yep, if a PT will wear them, I’ll get on the bandwagon.
Christian Louboutin famously doesn’t consider comfort an important design element in his shoes, and every person I’ve talked to who owns a pair admits that although they love them, they hurt. That’s just a bargain that Louboutin and his customers have made, and it seems as though more than enough women are willing to deal with a little discomfort to wear a pair of his fabled heels. In that respect, I wouldn’t really worry about these Louboutins hurting more than any other pair – they’re all going to hurt anyway, and the clear panels that connect the toe cap to the matching heel and ankle straps give a great nearly-nude look to the foot and leg. The shoe also comes in a black version, for those who think the neon is a little too trendy. Buy through MyTheresa for $795.
