Christian Louboutin seem to always be at the forefront of shoe trends, no matter whether they concern structure, color or material. Neons and brights? Done. Chunky-heeled platforms? Done. Plenty of regular pumps when the trends moved away from platforms? He had that covered too, despite being the defacto king of the thick sole. He was also ahead of the game on smoking flats, so why did it take Louboutin this long to give us a truly covetable oxford?

Sure, Christian Louboutin has had a women’s oxford to its name in the past, most notably the Fred, but the brand has more or less confined that shoe to basic patent colors and the occasional exotic. In the past few years, other brands have made oxfords in nearly ever color and material under the sun, and finally, the Christian Louboutin Havana Patent Leather Brogues seem to indicate that Louboutin has heard the wishes of his consumers.

How amazing is this color? I can answer that for you: totally amazing. It’s pure citrus in shoe form, which is all anyone can really ask for during the warm months. Sure, if it’s all that warm, I’d probably rather be wearing sandals, but sometimes you have to mix things up a bit for the good of your own sanity. Trust me, these shoes are a worthy respite from whatever kind of shoe boredom that might ail you. Buy through Net-a-Porter for $695.
