Last month, I reviewed a pair of Dolce & Gabbana shoes with all-over (literally) crystal embellishment, and at the time, I expressed surprise that Christian Louboutin had yet to strass his signature red sole, particularly since his crystal shoes are so incredibly popular with his core fan base. At the time, I assumed that such a shoe would like show up in the next season or two, and it looks as though I was correct. (I love it when that happens.)

The somewhat blurry Instagram picture above appeared on the official Christian Louboutin Twitter and Facebook accounts over the weekend, and although the photo quality isn’t great, what it shows is indeed clear: a red strass shoe with a red strass sole to match. Louboutin didn’t provide any further information about the type of shoe, when it would debut or how much it would cost, but from the details available, my guess would be a Daffodil or something similarly extreme. The price? High, of course. So what say you: Is this the ultimate red sole? We’re thinking yes.
