Dolce Gabbana Sequined Platform Pumps Dolce & Gabbana brings its signature sequins to your feetDolce & Gabbana Sequined Platform Pumps, $745 via Net-a-Porter

When I think of Dolce & Gabbana, I think of two things that the brand does perhaps better than any other major designer on the planet: leopard print and sequins. Somehow, Dolce manages to take those two strong looks and incorporate them tastefully into all kinds of unique things, my favorite of which has always been the sequined-covered tuxedo jackets worn by the likes of Brad Goreski and Bryan Boy. Those jackets are one of the few things that have ever made me jealous of men’s fashion.

Occasionally, Dolce & Gabbana makes the look a little more accessible for us ladies and puts the same sequins on its shoes, which is where the Dolce & Gabbana Sequined Leather Platform Pumps come in. The best part of the shoes, though, can only be seen from behind.

It would have been very easy for Dolce to make just another pair of sequin pumps. It’s a brand signature, after all, and women are more than willing to pay through the nose for the lush, multicolored arrangement that it uses. Covering the underside of a shoe in the same sequins creaties an effect not unlike that of a wearable disco ball – these shoes are all shine, all the time, from every angle. This kind of detail is exactly what motivates so many women to spend big bucks on shoes; it may be a relatively small change from the average, but it’s one that makes a big difference in the overall impression of the piece. Buy through Net-a-Porter for $745.

Love the sequins from the back of the shoe. Unsure what I think about that particular colors however.

I am not a shoe person. I own mostly black shoes, but I do have a pair of loud sequined flats in an extremely loud color. So…I am loving the shoes. If money were no objec and I didn’t have flat feet, I would buy these shoes. Heck, if money were no object, I would buy them and put them on display in my living room.

I like these shoes even if I’d like to see them in other colors and maybe with a taller heel!
