Alice + Olivia Joyce Wedges, $265 via Nordstrom
I hate overpaying for anything, but especially for summer sandals. They’re usually made of much less expensive materials (not to mention less material) than winter-ready footwear, but often, the prices don’t reflect the obvious differences. It may seem a bit premature (and it is, believe me) to be talking about warm-weather shoes right now, but pre-orders for the Alice + Olivia Joyce Wedges in a couple different patterns just showed up on Nordstrom.com, and I couldn’t be more pleased. Alice + Olivia Joyce Wedges, $280 via Nordstrom
Whether you’d prefer something sunny and bright or neutral and luxurious, you can have it with these shoes for less than $300. The orange and white pair is canvas and therefore costs a little less than the leather faux-python pair, but they’re both sturdy, attractive and very much in keeping with current trends. I won’t really know if they’re expensive-looking until I see them in person, but at these prices, my hopes are high. Buy through Nordstrom for $265 in orange or $280 in python.
