Another pair of beautiful, subtle Lanvin shoes that I love – big surprise, right? Well, maybe subtle isn’t exactly the word, but you have to admit that next to yesterday’s hot pink Givenchy disaster, almost anything would seem deserving of the term. Objectively, the Lanvin Ombre Python Ankle Strap Pumps are glamourous in all of the right ways without screaming too hard for attention.

The star of the show, obviously, is the very careful ombre effect applied to the metallic python. The shoes looks like they’re reflecting a softly glowing fire, so much so that I can almost feel the heat coming off of them. Or maybe they’re actually gorgeous enough to have become their own energy source?

Indeed, it’s the details that make this shoe (and many of Lanvin’s pieces) so special. The last section of the heel is gold metal instead of laquer, reflecting the fact that the slightly undersized platform is also not the same material as the rest of the shoe. (It’s wood, in keep with the feeling of fire.) The last detail, of course, is the python ankle strap – its inclusion probably means that this shoe won’t be flattering on some leg shapes, but it gives the pumps a decidedly French flair that fits the brand so perfectly. I have offically died and gone to shoe heaven….absolutely amazing!

  • Treselle

    love it!

  • Ashley

I love the style and form of the shoes. But I HATE snake skin and the whole ombre pattern.

  • Ashley

These are great- except I wonder about the ankle strap cutting off the line of the leg… Other than that, they’re beautiful. Love the ombre!

  • Kym

Vegas, baby! Take away the platform and the nib on the heel and you have a very basic (and old fashioned) pump. Leave the snake and it’s really awful. Now, leave on the platform and the nib and take away the ankle strap and it’s a little less bondage. But whatever you do, it might be pretty to look at objectively (the ombre effect could be hypnotizing), but it’s still pure Vegas.

  • Emily

I normally hate wood details on shoes, but with it being such a small amount, I don’t mind it here. I don’t know that I could pull this shoe off with the ankle strap, but it is beautiful!

  • erg

These are growing on me. I normally dislike ombre but the details are amazing.

  • Lauren

I think these are very gaudy. IMO they look cheap and way too flashy. The only part I like is the wood.

  • Haylee

I love the shine, and i’m always a fan of the ankle strap

  • steph

I really like the ombre on these….these shoes are really great!!

Wow… this is the perfect summer evening shoe! It looks like a hot sunset *swoon*

  • Leigh

This shoe is a beautiful example of an ombre effect. It is subtle and extremely well executed. I wish I had an occasion to wear such a fabulous shoe, but I guess I have to still with the less dramatic for now.

  • Rachel

I don’t think I love the color…but LOVE the silhouette. The ankle strap makes it for me.

  • Cate

The first time I ever saw this shoe, I absolutely lost it. It is SO beautiful. Can we please get me a pair ASAP?

The ombre effect is like a warm toasty fire on a cold, wintery night. Love them!!

  • miko

i have died and gone to sexy leg heaven!!!!!!!!!!! the ombre effect is soothing like chamomile but glamorous like an overpriced drink in manhattan. i love them.

  • Jen

I really like the color effect, but I’m not too keen on the snake pattern and surely dislike the end of the heel.

  • Chris

    I. LOVE. THEM.

  • Michele

I love the ombre snakeskin, but the ankle strap and heel not so much.

  • Hannah

im impressed with Lanvin shoes nowadays!!!

  • Katrina

    OMG. these are fabulous!

  • Amber

These are so hot! I love animal print (reptile print in this case), especially on shoes. I love the cute little ankle strap too!

  • Sarah Hirsch

I like the ombre effect and the metallic… maybe just a wee bit too much going on here for my taste though.

  • Ashley

    These. Are. AWESOME.

  • Jane

The ombre is incredible they did the perfect blending of the colors its fantastic. I am a little unsure of the heal though, I guess I would just have to try it on just to make sure I could rock the show. This is all fantasy of course because there because they are out of my price range for sure.

  • Andrea

I’d like them more without the ankle strap

  • Laureen
