Giuseppe Zanotti Suede Platforms, $695 via Zappos
I don’t mean to be a broken record when it comes to Giuseppe Zanotti, but I feel like at least a few of you have to feel me on this. Over the past few season, Zanotti has gotten as close to wall-to-wall excellence as it gets in the ever-mercurial fashion world, and it’s rare that I find myself feeling anything but instant lust when I look at a pair of his shoes.
Obviously, the Giuseppe Zanotti Suede Platforms are another in a long line of Zanotti shoes that I’d like to have in my closet immediately, if not sooner. From the shape to the color to the material, this design couldn’t be more perfect for Fall 2011.
Even the little ankle strap is exactly what the season calls for. And although the shoe is trendy, it’s not faddish or ill-conceived; it simply takes the prevailing ideas of fall and translates them in a very simple way into a shoe that is greater than the sum of its parts. Not to mention that even though the heel is high, the generous platform and chunky heel will give you just as much stability and support as any wedge. Giuseppe has done it again.
