Fendi Chameleon Pumps, $950 (brown) and $935 (silver) via Saks

When I wrote about the shoes from Fendi’s Fall 2011 runway, the reception was…tepid. But I was undaunted! Fendi’s has remained one of my favorite shoe collections of the season, and seeing the Fendi Chameleon Pumps finally available for pre-order does nothing to dissuade me from my undying love for these shoes. They’re like a gorgeous, highly detailed version of your traditional schoolgirl mary janes, and that’s a look that I can get behind 100%, particularly with thicker heels making a big comeback.

I know women who are willing to pay a grand for a very simple pair of shoes, so long as they’re from the right brand, put these designs strike me as a lot more bang for your buck. Every inch of these shoes is planned and detailed with intricate perforations, and no matter the angle, there’s something to see. I appreciate any designer who realizes that making truly special footwear doesn’t necessarily necessitate making a stiletto, and I’d happily add all of Fendi’s Fall 2011 runway shoes to my closet, starting with these two. Buy through Saks for $950 (brown) or $935 (silver).

I was afraid that this moment would come. Like you I also still in love (deeply) with this shoe since I saw the original post. Now sure if I can afford them right now but they are on my wish list. Maybe my fairy godmother or Santa will get them for me (hey I still believe, LOL)

I saw these on Saks’ site & felt extremely geeky for liking them! This is just the type of preppy meets nerdy shoe I’d wear. I prefer the brown best as I have yet to move to Alice in Wonderland…

I understand the appeal of these shoes. The whole schoolgirl look made for sophisticated women…but to me, these shoes just aren’t nice. They’re kind of ugly, in fact. Awesome for the runway, but I would never wear these out on the street.

Once you put on Manolo Blahnik , you will love it, don’t want to take off it.

I bought them in blue and in the stingray/burgundy and LOVE them. Fendi’s flagship store on 5th Avenue had exclusive colors. I’m addicted!
