We already know that Style.com has declared the closed-toe pump the shoe that you must add to your wardrobe immediately, but we’d like to get a little more specific – brightly colored suede is the only way to go. (Ok, not the only way, but it’s the best way for summer). The texture of suede gives colors a rich and vibrant pop that regular leather rarely allows, and these shades are bold enough to summerize a shape and material that is usually associated with cooler weather. Whether you want to spend a little or a lot, we’ve got three killer options – the Steve Madden Bevv Pumps, Kate Spade Licorice Pumps and Brian Atwood Maniac Pumps.
Save:
Steve Madden Bevv Pumps, $89 via Nordstrom
These shoes might be reasonably priced, but there’s no fake stuff here – they’re made of real suede. The bright shade of coral is one of the season’s most important colors.
Spend:
Kate Spade Licorice Pumps, regularly $298, on sale for $200 via ShopBop
These pink pumps are my personal favorites of the group, and they also fullfil this season’s trend for pointy-toed shoes perfectly. The lack of a platform makes this design extremely current.
Splurge:
Brian Atwood Maniac Pumps, $595 via Net-a-Porter.
It seems like everywhere I look, there’s another star wearing Maniacs. These shoes come in a zillion colors and finishes, but purple suede seems like a total no-brainer after seeing this iteration. These are year-round shoes, which makes them well worth the extra dinero.
