I have a love-hate relationship with pre-orders. On the one hand, they let you secure sought-after pieces so that you know you’ll get your stuff as soon as it’s available; it takes the guesswork out of going to the mall. On the other hand, for many of us, shopping is an immediate-gratification activity. Seeing a piece that you love want to wear immediately and knowing that you can’t have it for three long, hard months is the stuff of crazy-making. Such is my dilemma with the Giuseppe Zanotti Multicolored Striped Pumps.

When I first saw these shoes, I was all ready to write a post about how the multitude of colorful stripes made them a perfect way to start summer, even if you’re going to be stuck inside an office for most of the season. But then, just before I got started, I check the ship date and realized they’re not slated to arrive on anyone’s doorstep until August. The end of the season! Such a pity.

Because I’m not a big believer in “season appropriateness” and believe that almost any material or color can be worn in any season if the styling is correct, I still feel good about recommending these shoes. Particularly since the base is covered in black suede; these shoes are a perfect way to bring some much-needed color into your cold-weather dressing. It just seems like so long until that cold weather (and these shoes) will be here. Buy through Neiman Marcus for $695.
