Rag & Bone Perforated Suede Oxfords, $395 via Net-a-Porter.

First of all, apologies for the lack of new posts! Moving over a thousand miles away from home is a debacle no matter how much careful planning you do, but now that I’m in my apartment and have an Internet connection to call my very own, we should be more or less back to normal around these parts. I sincerely appreciate the patience, and I hope that you’ll take the Rag & Bone Perforated Suede Oxfords as a token of my gratitude.

Maybe it’s just all the walking I’ve been doing lately, but these bright little shoes are a sight for sore eyes and sorer feet. And while I probably shouldn’t be taking them out in the rainy weather we’ve been having, I’ll gladly set them aside and pray for sunshine.

Red has always been my favorite color, and red shoes in particular have a spot in the annals of dressing that’s hard to ignore. These shoes create a nice juxtaposition between the masculinity of the oxford shape and the tactile femininity of red suede, and they’re practical enough to be worn a variety of different ways. I’m a little nervous about the dye bleeding onto the light laces, but changing them out for something a little more fun wouldn’t be a bad idea anyway. Buy through Net-a-Porter for $395.

The red looks so rich, but it’s really hard for me to think of multi outfits for this pair.

There’s something very crisp about red shoes (and the ivory laces). But the high vamp and long uppers in these oxfords have a way of making feet look bigger than they are. The NAP model’s feet look huge – not a good idea for smaller-framed women!

I love the red. I think that this is the first oxford that I have seen that I would actually purchase.
