Christian Louboutin Chaotic 100 Ankle Boots, $865 via Net-a-Porter

When I think of Christian Louboutin, demureness and subtlety are not the words that come to mind. And that seems to be just how Louboutin wants it – almost all of his shoes proudly proclaim themselves to everyone who might look their way without a bit of restraint. But the Christian Louboutin Chaotic 100 Ankle Boots, despite their name, are all about aesthetic editing. If you thought Louboutin couldn’t do it, you were wrong.

These shoes may have far fewer elements than your average Louboutin sandal, but what they do have is absolutely pristine. The beige canvas and milk chocolate leather work together beautifully as both a contrast of textures and colors, and the peep toe, summer-appropriate material and open front make this shoe a very unique alternative to a more traditional summer sandal. I felt sort of ambivalent about this design during Spring 2011 press previews, but seeing it in its retail form has completely changed my mind. The tailoring and restraint used in this shoe are exemplary, just to prove to everyone that perhaps Louboutin can indeed be all things to all people. Buy through Net-a-Porter for $865.
