Now that we’ve made it past Memorial Day, it’s really time to talk about summer fashion in earnest. Anyone that’s ever lived in a warm climate knows that the challenges of summer dressing are unique, and shoes and accessories don’t get a pass just because they don’t cover vast swaths of skin. In fact, I’m probably more careful about picking shoes for summer than for any other season.
There’s just something so exhausting about hot weather that makes me want to put my heels and platforms away until after Labor Day has safely come and gone. Heels are work, no matter what anyone says, and I just don’t feel like doing work when it’s already 95 degree and humid outside. For that reason, shoes like the Loeffler Randall Carlie Mignon Twist Sandals are a total godsend.
These sandals aren’t entirely flat, but their heel is so low that you likely won’t even notice it after walking for a few minutes. The great part, though, is that they have all the personality and detail of an elaborate platform. The multicolor leather is very big in color trends right now, and the twisted cording gives the shoe a lot of visual interest while still remaining totally summer-appropriate. I’ll take two pairs, please. Buy through ShopBop for $227.
