For the past month or two, I’ve had my eye on the Kate Spade Licorice Suede Pumps. They come in colors from red to purple to basic black, and I just knew that Kate Spade would eventually turn out a great spring bright that would instantly grab my attention. In this case, patience was indeed a virtue.
Obviously, anyone with two eyes and a love for color knows that the day has come where I can finally write about these shoes in all their glory. Like yesterday’s United Nude pumps, these shoes take a staid wardrobe staple and kick it up a few very fashionable notches. Unlike the United Nude shoes, what Kate Spade has done here will likely appeal to even the most ardent of traditionalists.
We all know that both pointed-toe and platformless pumps are on their way back, and this shoe is a prototypical example of both trends, rendered in a gorgeous shade and sumptuous material. When you consider how much a lot of brands will charge for a pump like this one, Kate Spade’s contemporary price point makes this feel like finding a great shoe on sale. How great would these shoes look peeking out from under a pair of grey trousers? Now that is a great way to spice up a work day. Buy through ShopBop for $295.
