Around these parts, a heel has to be really tall in order to get a second thought from me. I don’t personally understand how people function in day to day life while wearing five-inch heels, but the good ones fly out of stores so quickly that I have no doubt in my mind that they do, so there’s likely little use in questioning it. And although I may not understand the how, I definitely get the why; few things are sexier than a great heel.

The Jimmy Choo Halley Platform Sandals, though, feature a heel so high and thin that it caused me to do a double-take. At over six inches, this is out of our normal heel-height range, but the shoe attached to it is incredibly sexy and one of Choo’s best in quite a while. Do you think you could walk in it?

I certainly don’t, but it’s likely that many of you are more intrepid than I am when it comes to heels of this height. I certainly prefer this Choo to many of the company’s other offerings over the past few seasons, so maybe this is an indication that Tamara Mellon is set to take the company in a new, sleeker direction. We can only hope. In the meantime, if you choose to wear these shoes, step carefully and beware of the price. Buy through Saks for $1495.

I really like this shoe, but that heel looks scary. I need a version of this one with about a 2 inch heel. That’s all my back and flat feet can handle. (iPad)

  • speaking of this ish…

I love the design but that heel is all sorts of Emergency Room problems..lols (ipad)

haha, i think it is really a pair of perilously tall heel, but more like nice Jimmy Choo shoes.
