When I first saw the ROSEGOLD Lane Open Toe Platform Pumps, I thought, perfect! Those will make a great comparison to the Prada Laser-Cut Patent Leather Pumps that have just come out for Resort 2011! And then I looked at the two shoes next to each other and, ehrm, not so much. They’re more like a reminder of why some of us have a tendency to pay so much for shoes in the first place.

I don’t mean to cast aspersions on ROSEGOLD as a brand – it makes some great contemporary items at a very palatable price point. But when you sit these shoes next to a pair of super-sharp, highly detailed Prada pumps, it’s not much of a task to identify which pair is more
expensive. And in this case, rightfully so; the Pradas have a precision and elegance to them that is unmistakably Miuccia.
