The Comme des Garcons Covered Lace-Up Loafers are the kind of shoes that I tend to like but that many women tend to entirely ignore. They’re strongly masculine and modern, with little in the way of a nod toward femininity or traditional prettiness of any kind.
They’re kind of butch, and I kind of love them for it.
Perhaps my love of shoes like these is the only proof that anyone needs to know that I’ve been sucked down the fashion rabbit hole for good, but I find something intensely attractive about a piece that’s willing to eschew traditional femininity in favor of modernism and sharp aesthetics. At the same time, though, I can’t imagine these shoes being particularly hard to work into a wardrobe, as long as your closet is long on opaque tights and you’re a little adventurous. Buy through Saks for $685.
