The last time I wrote about a pair of patterned silk Dolce & Gabbana shoes, everyone hated them. And yet, I am undeterred! I still think that the brand is among the best in the industry when it comes to pretty, printed shoes, and the Dolce & Gabbana Floral silk Pumps are the next design of that kind that I’d like to put up for scrutiny.

Unsurprisingly, I love them. The draped silk is delicate and feminine, and when we’re talking about a regular pair of closed-toe pumps, that kind of effect is difficult to pull off with any sort of meaningful success. And yet Dolce does it!

I think that these shoes work best when you imagine the entire Dolce & Gabbana girl. Retro glamour in the hair and makeup, an impeccably tailored, pencil-skirted black dress that hugs the body all the way to just below the knee, and these shoes providing just a bit of softness and visual interest at the feet. Printed shoes may be harder to work into a wardrobe than a solid color, but everyone woman should have at least one pair that she loves for the days when your outfits are entirely solid. Or, if you’re adventurous, I’d love to see how these pair with some sort of geometric pattern. Buy through Nordstrom for $675.

I can see these working well in the Spring. They don’t work with my personal style but they are lovely all the same.

I’ll need to inspect these in person, recently I went all for edgy shoes because the rest of my outfit had to be conservative, so shoes were my rebellion. But I can see these working well too with something tailored.

I cant help it they remind me of a duck. I cant figure out exactly why.

I love printed shoes, but I don’t think I like the combination here of the print plus the extra volume from the ruching, and I am not a big fan of the colors either. I adore the printed Nicholas Kirkwood shoes, though!

The printed silk really is gorgeous, but the shape of the shoe is throwing me off! It looks awful!

I’m all for printed shoes, but the fabric on these look like they were ripped from a tacky tablecloth.
