I have a love/hate relationship with the month of August. It’s the month I squeeze in the last of summer fun, but it’s also the month to get prepared for the crisp weather that will hit us sooner then we ever expect. Regardless of what Mother Nature is telling us, in the world of fashion, summer is long over and the e-commerce shelves are being filled with fall and winter shoes.

While I’m not ready for summer to end, I would be lying to you if I said I wasn’t a pinch excited for some of these great trends that await us. Check out some of my favorites below and how I will be wearing these fabulous shoes in the upcoming months!

1. The Not-So-Basic Pointed-Toe Flat

Classic pointed-toe flats are essential in every women’s closet, but this season it’s all about the playful patterns, giving off an urbane vibe. The contrasting prints give a modest flat an extra dose of fun, and when paired with slim-fitting cigarette pants or wide-leg trousers, you’ll love the effortless chic feel these flats will bring to any outfit.

2. The Jewel Tone Pump with an Asymmetric Twist

Not only are jewel-tone pumps trending, but the asymmetrical design of this classic pump can’t go unnoticed. I’m always in favor of a classic silhouette with an innovative twist, like the high-cut back of these Prada pumps. This d’Orsay pump would go great with anything from a fashion-forward little black dress to a slimming pair of your favorite dark skinny jeans. With shoes in this deep hue, I would keep my entire outfit dark for a dramatic monochrome impact.

3. The Ubiquitous Ankle Bootie but with a Twist

The ankle is bit longer and the heel is a bit chunkier, making this ankle boot one to remember. This new style of ankle boot will be popping up a lot this season, and all boot lovers can rejoice over the comfortable, sleek look these boots evoke. I love to wear my ankle boots with skinny or boyfriend jeans and paired with an oversized chunky sweater, making this one of my favorite looks of the season!

I am a huge fan of the buckles that have come to be apparent over the past few months. I think it looks so great with flats and when you add that buckle to classic pumps it gives it a somewhat 90s-esque feel. They are so elegant and really make women look so lady. I am glad these are back in style!
