As if Christian Louboutin’s superior construction and creativity weren’t enough to make us all drool over his shoes, now we have another great reason: Louboutin likes to use his footwear prowess to better the world at large instead of just the closets of his customers.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Louboutin has just released two versions of the limited edition Christian Louboutin Peace of Shoe Pump, for the brand’s boutiques in Hollywood (pink) and Miami (lavender). The shoe will retail for $1495. All proceeds will benefit microfinance, and the charity of choice for Christian Louboutin is the Grameen Foundation, founded in part by 2006 Nobel Laureate Muhammad Yunus.

Oh, that’s great! It’s nice to see designers thinking beyond their business. And the pink looks so hot, but lavender! That sounds absolutely lust-worthy. What a gorgeous pair of heels!

These heels are to die for, they are absolutely gorgeous! One question though Amanda, in the picture, they appear to look satin; do you know the material of these pumps?
