Jimmy Choo teamed up with Ugg to makeover their well known shoes. I plan to purchase one of these options. So help me out and share your vote!

I already know what half of you are thinking: Uggs are fug. I get it, I totally do. Ugg boots have one of the most immediate automated hate responses when it comes to shoes. The style is very chunky and some consider these boots as unfashionable as they come. But they are a) WARM and b) COMFORTABLE. For those two reasons alone I am a huge Ugg fan.

Truth be told I am not a fan of the cold. Yes, Vlad and I just moved from South Florida to NYC. We are attempting to gear up for a winter without a car in a city where I feel like the wind will whip between the buildings and freeze me into a statue. I applaud every single woman who can somehow wear heels in snow/sleet/ice. I already guarantee you the chance of me doing this is slim to none. So Uggs, yes, they are my friend and I plan to welcome them into my life very soon.

Amanda already shared her dislike of this collaboration with you all. I don’t dislike the collaboration as much. The clunky Ugg boots got a bit of a makeover with Jimmy Choo touches (and prices). So help me out and cast your vote above! Don’t be afraid to tell me how you truly feel in the comments section below.

Entire collaboration available via Nordstrom and Net-A-Porter.

I’ll take fringe any time, every time!

  • jamie

I want the studded ones so bad!!!! Love them!

  • annabelle

i love uggs…but those are not my style…
if i have to pick one it’ll be the leopard.

  • Lynne

I hate to say it, but these type of Uggs are not the best choice for ice and snow. Traction is key for icy conditions.

    Welcome to NYC!

    • Megs Mahoney Dusil

What shoes provide proper traction? I really am mostly clueless!

      • Ali

Try Sporto boots- every now and then they have some cute boots that work for the snow. I saw some the other day at Macy’s that were rubber boots with fleece lining and knitted cuffs. Uggs are definitely not for bad weather- here in WI my feet would be soaked and my boots would be ruined in five minutes flat during a snowstorm!

  • qudz104

i have to agree that uggs are prob the worst boots to wear in the slushy conditions of nyc because the soles sometimes start to leak, the suede gets discolored etc. Theyre great for cold days and when the snow just falls. Also the previous poster is right that theres no traction. I used to wear rainboots with thick socks and those had better traction and kept your feet drier. Or go for the bearpaws brand, those are great as well.

And i def love the leapord ones the most!

  • mary s

i love uggs. but i would check out the website and make sure you get a pair of rain proof boots and freezing rain is common for NYC. my rain resistant pair of uggs are 5 years old and looking great.

  • mary s

p.s. i want to add that i am from and IN NYC. Uggs are fine for rain and snow if you get the RAIN RESISTANT ones. most are not, so you have read the details and make sure but if you do find a pair, they are perfect for those awful and cold nyc winters.

  • mary s

the following shoes/ boots are rain and snow resistant and perfect for NYC winter.

team Ugg! i have a crazy camo pair and a basic grey pair.
they are like walking on a bed of down feathers. :-)

the zebra one is rather hideous lol :-/

  • Jennifer

How about none of them, yuck.

  • Rachel

Yeah, sorry…not a fan of any. It’s all a little much for me. I got the Ugg Bellvues boots last year which are actually waterproof and kind of like a cross between Ugg and Frye. I prefer something more simple and practical as opposed to these trendy options. Sorry!

  • shueaddict

I’d actually spend my Jimmy Choo allowance on the Hunter’s version ( but that is because I live in an uncivilized capital that turns into mud city during the winter).

  • BattyBugs

I actually think that Uggs are comfy and warm. I would take either of the Kaia styles.

  • Candice0985

Megs- uggs are horrible for the winter, they soak up water and become waterlogged and salt covered. the best kind of boot to buy would be a waterproof boot like something from Timberland (believe it or not they have really cute options) or Sorel. I looove sorel boots for the winter. very warm, water proof and they have really cool options now that look great with skinny jeans tucked into them.

just please don’t do uggs for the winter you will regret it!!!!

  • 19yearslater

I wear Uggs, they are not a bad choice for winter so I don’t know where all of that is coming from. I like the originals but of the Jimmy Choos the studded ones are the least horrible.

  • mochababe73

The reason why I don’t wear Uggs is because:
    1. I live in TX.
    2. They look huge.
But…if I were going to wear them, they would have to be the Kai Leopard print.

  • Shannon

I like the fringe, but I think the classic short with fringe looks better than the classic tall.

Uggs are great for cold days like today, or when its a light, fresh snow, but like others said, get a waterproof pair of snow boots cause Uggs are not waterproof at all. I have a cute pair from Juicy Couture that I got a few years ago, and Nike makes nice ones too with really good traction (I have a pair of those too).

  • Stylista

Oh dear…ugh, these are just so hideous (sorry!). I really cannot force myself to choose one for you. I made a post about this collab on my blog, and the majority of people say NO! to these boots.

Here in Minnesota, the winter slush, salt and dirt would make a mess of them in no time and you’d slip on the ice for sure. I don’t like them, but if I had to pick a pair, my choice would be the zebra print.

  • PhotoGirl

The studded pair on the upper left. And could you pick up an extra pair for me while you’re at it? :)

Here in the frozen tundra that we call the Midwest, Uggs are most definitely my best frend from December until sometime in April. I will never give them up!

  • Merve

These scream fashion victim. I was NYC last December and i froze in my Uggs. Not the shoe of choice for wet icy snowy weather.

  • sosti

You will regret this when your feet are freezing and wet on the first snowy slush day, they are NOT waterproof, ULU are much better IMO, they are warm, better looking AND waterproof. I love mine!
