I mean.

Where do I even start?

I thought it was bad when Mou did flat, Ugg-like Chewbacca boots, but this situation is far worse, for several reasons. First, the Manolo Plahnik Blehnha Faux Fur Boots have a heel. And a point toe. At least the Mous could be shrugged off as silly, but these boots seem to aim to be taken seriously.

Secondly, there’s more of them. Instead of midcalf, these boots push their way further up the leg and take up more visual space than they rightly deserve (since they don’t deserve any). Furry boots of any type will overpower an outfit, but these don’t even give the rest of your clothes the chance to get a word in edgewise.

Thirdly, and perhaps most importantly, these Manolos are worse than their Mou cousins because of the almighty dollar. While $400 is still far too much to pay for what essentially amounts to furry, less attractive Uggs, it’s a far sight better than the $1600+ price tag that these things command. In fact, the only positive thing I have to say about this entire design is that at least it uses fake fur – no unnecessary animals had to die in order to make such a footwear abomination. Buy through Nordstrom for $1695.

these will make the folk singers in my Eastern European country of residence cry with joy. And quite possibly a few moms at my son’s school.

  • KathyB

Not for me, but there will be some diehard Blahnik fans who’ll jump right on (and in) these boots. However, I do have to agree with him about the platforms….. :)

  • Elly

I am that diehard Blahnik fan! I think in the right (and believe me, I mean EXACTLY right) situation, the right setting and the right person, these boots could work. But then again, I wear almost exclusively Manolo so I am kind of biased.

  • reese

this with that horrid channel chubacca body suit… more sightings of big foot?

  • Constance

Wooooooow! lol These can only be worn by a very select group of women. You know, very tall, very thin, etc. lol

    • Stylista

The fur is definitely a bit overpowering, but I can see these working! Imagine this during fashion week, worn by the most daring, most fashion-forward, beautiful women…

These are so beautiful on. I brought them. At first I didn’t think they would be, but after I put them on, other woman that were looking started trying them on as well! You have to be a very confident and stylish person to wear these gorgeous boots.

  • Barb

I actually saw these on the View this week. They were kind of cute when worn with the right outfit. 1700 is a bit too high for me but hey is anything truly fashionable while sloshing thru cold and snow?

  • Irene

I actually like them and I can see my self wearing them with wool pants and tight fitting jacket or better yet a white mini dress.

  • OMG

YUCK YUCK YUCK! Tacky is the other word that comes to ming

  • Merve

I really wanna meet the women who will pay 1700 dollars to look like Fashionista Big Foot.

  • Selinappy

First of all, the price is astronomical for faux fur.
Secondly, I kind of like them. The have the heal and pointy toe which reminds me of something Prince would wear, and I am huge Prince fan. I think that with the right outfit, they would work.
But, I wouldn’t spend no more than $99 for them.

  • Olga

Tastes differs! A for me, they are very cute and fashionable :) )) You just need to know what to wear them with!
And the fur is a genuine fur :)
