The Louis Vuitton Beauty Pumps have been controversial since their debut on the Fall/Winter 2010 runway in Paris earlier this year, just as I’m sure Marc Jacobs intended. One camp sees them as silly and matronly while the other prefers to think of them as inventive and unique in fashion’s current landscape, and I happen to be a part of that second group.

Stilettos aren’t going anywhere, of course, but it’s always nice to have a new shape and silhouette to add to the shoe landscape. The combination of a velvet upper and crystal-encrusted heel only makes this shoe more appealing in any color.

These shoes are probably geared more toward grown women than girls in my age range (mid-20s), but that’s not necessarily a criticism. Fully functioning adults buy shoes too, and a lot of them, and I hope that I’m chic and discerning enough to wear these shoes and pull off this look in a couple of decades. If I am, I’ll be a happy woman indeed. Available through Louis Vuitton stores only for $1420.

I love these shoes. And I just hit 30 recently. But the price! Oh the price. Who spends that much on a pair of pumps you cannot wear every day (and that lose their value each time you do wear them)? I really don’t get these prices.

LOVELY! However, won’t be buying these as I shall bring out some all leather ones bought in the 90′s that are the same shape.

I love them but yesterday I was at Louis Vuitton in Milan and the crystal version is 6600 euro! I don’t know the conversion in us dollars but they surely are a LOT of money!

    i really love these too.

honestly though? girls with long legs can rock a chunky heel with ease. i’ve heard many petite ladies say that stilettos are more suitable for their body type. that may be why so much of the fashion crowd is divided on this shoe!

I am almost positive that Patti Labelle was wearing them in black when she appeared this week on the Wendy Williams Show. They (and she) looked fabulous!
