For those of you unimpressed by fall’s motorcycle and work boot trends, we’ve got something completely different for you, not to mention something to go with those ladylike handbags about which we’ve heard so much chatter over the past few months.
The Giambattista Valli Bow Suede Pumps picks up shoe trends of a different sort from fall’s runways – lower heels, bows and old school refinement. After weeks on end of looking and huge platforms and lots of laces, these quiet little shoes are a nice change of pace.
I don’t think that these heels are quite low enough to be accurately referred to as “kitten heels,” and that’s to their credit. Also to this shoe’s credit is the color combination – black and deep blue are underrated when used together, and the black tends to bring out the blue’s depth and richness. My favorite part of the shoe, though, is the color change on the heel. It mirrors the bicolor body of the shoe nicely while giving the overal design another point of visual interest, and for reasons that I can’t entirely explain, the ivory portion at the top makes the whole design work for me. These shoes are probably best left to an office environment, but they’d make splendid work shoes indeed. Buy through Net-a-Porter for $895.
