These Chanel pumps are for office professionals and ladies who lunch alike

Sometimes I get a sense that the Chanel schtick is wearing thin with some customers, but I still enjoy much of what the brand creates. Tweed, boucle, camellias and pearls may not be everyone’s proverbial cup of tea, but the adherence to iconic products and materials makes Chanel what it is today while still giving Kaiser Karl Lagerfeld ample opportunity to experiment on the runway (and sometimes with the runway – imported iceberg chunks, giant gilded lions, etc.).
These classic Chanel Tweed Pumps are absolutely the result of the brand’s idolatry of tradition. But what’s perhaps more important is that they’re really great, wearable shoes that don’t leach on youth and trends.
Look, someone has to make shoes for grown-ups. Someone! And most adult women, whether they’re employed or not, can’t wear stilettos everyday. Sometimes it’s for health or work reasons, sometimes it’s for comfort, sometimes it’s just because stilettos are ouchy. If you can wear crazy shoes everyday, more power to you – you’re a more successful fashion person than I am.
But for the rest of us, it’s nice that a brand like Chanel is still making attractive, walkable, well-made shoes that can be worn to the office without worry (and also, without attracting too much attention from jealous, mouthy coworkers).

Sometimes it makes more sense to dish out a lot of money for Chanel’s classic shoes that are timeless. I have 3 pairs of Louboutin boots that are sat in my cupboard from winter 2009 and i cringe at the money wasted as they look so last season whereas my Chanel pumps keep debuting every year.
These shoes are fabulous. They are classic and timeless, but not just another boring leather pump! These would be great for winter and I am just loving them – the tweed, the over sized flower detail, everything about these shoes is a home run!

I am one of those that can’t wear stillettoes (scoliosis and flat feet). I used to, but now, I am old enough and wise enough not to kill my feet and back with them. I appreciate any designer that is currently making shoes in this heel range that actually look classic and not dowdy. I love them.
Now, I may need a second job just to buy the things.
These are really wonderful shoes. Stilettos still catch my eye but I won’t be wearing them anymore. Shoes with this heel height are much more manageable. Now if only the price were.
