Here we go again – this time, with Opening Ceremony
by Amanda MullIf you thought the Lanvin Python and Mongolian Fur Pumps were badly in need of a blowout, get a load of the Opening Ceremony Curly Lamb Wedge Booties. I’m usually a fan of the majority of questionably tasteful fashion trends, but curly hair-adorned shoes and bags are simply beyond the pale, particularly because when they’re rendered in black, the appearance is a bit too similar to what grows out of my head.
I’ll give credit where credit is due, however – this pair is ever-so-slightly more artfully conceived than the utterly atrocious and unforgivably bad Mou Goatskin Cowboy Boots. That’s faint praise if there ever was any, though.
Opening Ceremony is known for doing things that are a bit left-of-center when compared to mainstream fashion, so it’s safe to say that conventional attractiveness wasn’t the principle concern when designing these shoes. And in a way, that’s great, because these shoes aren’t conventionally attractive at all. So, goal achieved? Even for a woman with edgy sartorial tastes, though, these wedges are little more than expensive fuzzy slippers with wedge heels attached. Buy through ShopBop for $554.

I think the wedge actually makes them worse. It’s a giant, furry slipper trying to look fancy. Like a little girl in her mom’s heels, it doesn’t work.
Did someone forget to brush their poodle???? Ohhhhh, wait…are you kidding me?? That’s really something you put on your feet? Not something you pet?????
I’m sorry, but looking like one of the Budweiser Clydesdales is a big fat fashion NO! I’m sure in the event of a spill, a quick trip to the grooming aisle of your local Petco will suffice for these hooves/shoes.
i need these to keep my feet warm in the winter. my feet & toes are a constant block of ice from November thru April. I would wear these around the house, no problem!
