Fringe Loafers

Flats may have been one of the popular shoes we saw around Lincoln Center during Fashion Week, and every single pair prettier than the next. After spotting so many roaming the tents, I couldn’t help but do some serious searching for the perfect pair to purchase for myself. I looked high and low and finally narrowed my options to my favorite two, the Valentino Studded Polish Leathered Loafers or the Marni Fringed Patent Leather Brogues.

Sure they both look relatively the same with their patent leather fringe, but any shoe lover knows how different they really are. The chunky versus the slim sole. Pointed tip versus round toe. And the obvious color choice between patent navy or patent black. If only I could find a way to marry the two.

So after what seems like hours on hours, I’ve come to the conclusion there’s no way I can make this decision on my own, which is where you all come in. If it were up to you, which one of the two would you choose – the Valentino Studded Polished Leather Loafers or the Marni Fringed Patent Leather Brogues?

I practically live in brogues (i own a several pairs of converse but wear them rarely) so initially i was drawn to the Marni ones, but the sole is just too clunky and the fringe reminds me of shoes worn at a uniform-wearing boarding school. The Valentino on the other hand are much more elegant and polished, and at the same time the studded heel gives them the right amount of edge, I say go with the Valentino!

Valentino will be a better long term purchase IMO.
