Usually with Jimmy Choo heels, I have some sort of nit to pick. It’s not that the shoes aren’t beautiful, but they’re just usually not quite my style, and for the prices I want something that I like from tip to toe, without exception. Perhaps I’m picky, but I prefer to think that I’m just very focused on getting exactly what I want for my money.

This time around, the Jimmy Choo Faxon Booties couldn’t be more perfect for my tastes. The architectural combination of opaque and mesh elements along with plenty of beautiful python has me sitting up and paying attention, and I hope that the continued advent of fall shoes brings about more Choos just like this pair.

It’s hard to make python, satin, leather and mesh (plus a lacquered heel) all work together well enough to create a cohesive, attractive shoe, but the fine folks at Jimmy Choo have done it with a heaping helping of attitude. It might be a bit hard to imagine the end result once a foot is inside from this photo, but the flesh-colored background would kick the contrast up a notch and bring out the myriad textural details of the shoe’s intricate design. Buy through Nordstrom for $1695.

These are the first Choos I’ve really liked in a long time!

I love the patchwork. I wish that I could wear heels that high.
I am not really a shoe whore. I pretty much live in my 4 pairs of animal print, Coach sneakers, black flats, and Converse. This site may make me a shoe lover.

They are truly gorgeous but Amanda for $1700 they kinda HAVE to be. Is it me or are shoe prices getting really ridiculous?

Yeah I totally agree – shoe prices are outrageous. I usually just try to focus on aesthetics when I write about a shoe (or a bag, for that matter) because if I let myself start talking about prices…well, that’s all I’d ever talk about. They’re ridiculous. And I’ve seen plenty of ugly shoes in this price range, so at least Jimmy Choo got something right.
